On the edge of Sandside Bay, Reay Golf Club is a classic 18-hole links course, offering amazing views over the Pentland Firth and North Atlantic. It’s one of only a handful of clubs in the north of Scotland to be designed by James Braid, renowned golf course architect. Braid laid 12 holes here in 1933, and it is his most northerly course. Open and exposed to the elements, this is a challenging yet rewarding course to play. Open to members and visitors all year round.
Whenever we are up here, there’s only one hotel that we stay in! Murray, and his team, always make every guest feel so at home. The rooms are cosy, hotel well situated, by the river, and the restaurant and bar are fab. Excellent food and a great selection of drinks. Even with the covid restrictions, our stay was still lovely and we will definitely be back!

Reay Golf Club is part of the James Braid Highland Golf Trail. Created for golfers who wish to discover a variety of courses over the north of Scotland, all designed in part or full by James Braid. The Scottish golfer and golf course architect who became renowned across the world for his impressive designs. The seven courses on the trail are: Reay, Brora, Golspie, Fortrose and Rosemarkie, Muir of Ord, Inverness and Boat of Garten.
